Weekly Blog 4-1 (64): One More Quarter

Image
Hello 'Ilima Welcome Back! This week of school marks the beginning of the fourth quarter and it was defintely an experience. The biggest thing from this week was Orientation practice. For the past couple months, Leadership has been preparing for the Orientation, working on our speeches and walks. This week was the first time we rehearsed in the Cafeteria and I think it went pretty well. The first thing to mention about the practice would be the blocks. Before we would start the rehearsal, we needed to move these huge wooden blocks to the floor. These blocks were so massive and it took like 8-12 people to move one block. But besides that, the rehearsals went well. The only real thing I needed to work on was changing clothes, but I already planned out how I was gonna go from each outfit to the next. Besides Orientation practice, this week was mainly getting back into the groove of school, waking up early and dealing with the lack of energy throughout the day. In school, most of the c...

Weekly Blog 3-10 (63): It's (Almost) Over

Hello 'Ilima This was the last week of the third quarter and a lot went down during this week. First of all, we had the last major event of the quarter on Friday, that being the Elementary School Dance Competition. Going into this, I was expecting to have a fun time. We would get to watch the different schools preform their hearts our and we could just be doors. Oh but how wrong I was. For this event, all of the tables were taken out and replaced by foldable chairs. I didn't put up those chairs as it was dance, but I would have to help put them away. I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, so let's rewind a bit. My job was working as a door, greeting and welcoming people in. Jacob, Emma, and Cherish were also doors and for the first couple hours, we didn't have much to do. We just talked, played simon says, and had fun. Eventually, some of the elementary schools went inside the cafeteria to practice their dance. The door group, me and the aforementioned door workers, use...

Quarter 3 Blog

Hello 'Ilima I'm glad to say that this quarter of school is finally over. This was a very chaotic quarter of school, full of many ups and downs. Let's start with the biggest events of the quarter. The biggest thing we did this quarter by far would have to be Spirit Week. One whole week full of work that climaxed on an eventful Friday that consisted of Cheer Off and Relay Race. I went into much more detail about Spirit Week in my blog dedicated to it, but I will still mention some of the biggest parts from it. So like I mentioned earlier, Friday had Cheer Off and Relay Race. These are like the two headline events of Spirit Week and they did not disappoint. Both events had all the teams compete against their grade level to see who had the best cheer or who could finish the race the quickest. Besides the actual events being fun and flashy, the environment was probably the best part of these two events. The crowd was so electric and they were full of team spirit. Besides Cheer...

Weekly Blog 3-9 (62): Picture This

Image
Hello 'Ilima Recovering from Spirit Week, this week was not at all a break in the action. There were a bunch of things that went on during this week, so let’s start from what happened first. This was the week of Graduation Picture Taking which had us Leadership students dress up the 8th graders in gowns. I remember being very awkward about needing to dress people up last year, but that feeling was basically gone this year and it wasn’t really bad. We had to work two days, one during an even period and one during our leadership period. Both days went very well, with the only problems being getting mixed up with the different gowns occasionally. But a lot of funny things happened during the picture taking, like Sienna crushing Mikayla or Mikayla farting. The next thing I will talk about is Orientation practice. For the upcoming orientation for the 6th graders, Leadership has been practicing non stop for it. The theme for the orientation is Fashion Show and I have been learning how t...

Weekly Blog 3-8 (61): Spirit Week

Image
Hello 'Ilima This has been by far the longest week this entire school year. There was so many different things that went on, so for it all to make sense let's start at the beginning. For the past couple weeks, a group of 8-3 students have been practicing and preparing for the Synchronized Swimming. This group, which included me, practiced nonstop and we had a lot of different ups and downs. From moments of actual nice dancing, to instances of falling and fumbling, we had a lot of fun practicing for the dance. And all of that hard work would be paid off on the first day of Spirit Week where we would perform our dance. There were a lot of nerves heading into the performance, but I was also excited cause I wanted to share the dance that we were making for so long. What made it even more fun was that all of the boys had their hair tied up and bows put in it. So when it was time for the event, all of my group was ready. Once is started, an order was picked on who would go first and...
