Weekly Blog 3: Event After Event

Image
Welcome ‘Ilima      This week has been exhausting with picture taking and parent open house. Picture taking was across 4 days and I had an overall good experience. I worked a day at the stage and then 2 days greetings. For parent open house, I stayed after school doing homework and talking to friends until 3:30 where we are Kalua Pork which was ok. After around a hour, we started working at I was paired with Mikayla at the breezeway. She wasn’t there for some reason and I just worked without her. After a while, we stopped working and just started doing silly things. Mal toppled over me in front of the parents and it was as very embarrassing. The events went fine and I also enjoyed  taking my picture. My hair was fine which was a relief because over the weekend, I had hair troubles. I got my hair braided because I wanted that hairstyle but I ended up not liking it so I took them out. My hair then expanded and became bigger than my head. I’m just glad to have my ...

Weekly Blog #2

Image
Hello ‘Ilima!      Another week has gone by and Friday was (luckily) a break. This week has been pretty fun with the week ending with the elections. But before that, there was an almost full week of work. In Math and Science, there were pre tests where I got no result for one and a 14/15 for other which I am proud of. My Period 3 got to work TV and I was able to learn how to set it up and also work a station. The lunches were still mediocre and I didn't have lunch on Thursday. I don't like that in Social Studies, we are going to have a substitute because Mr. Cole has to take his daughter to college. I don't like substitutes in general because they know us as well as our main teacher and they usually do things differently then the main teacher which can be annoying. We also started after school sales and my friends and I are excited for when the kitchen gets installed and real food can start being served. But an update of last blog, I still think Science is my least ...

The First Week/Differences in Classes

Image
Welcome Back Ilima      This first week of school has been great with 7th graders experiencing the new school with new teachers and different classmates. As a 7th grader myself, I’ve enjoyed this week of learning and experiencing new things. I have 6 classes of Science, Social Studies, Leadership, English, Math, and Avid. For Leadership, I had spent 2 months in the summer preparing for the school year and during that time I gained many connections. This causes many differences between my classes and I would like to discuss those things.       First of all, Leadership is my current favorite class due to the fact that I’ve been in this group for the past couple of months. To push that aside, I enjoy Leadership because of its smaller class size which allows for connections to be created easier  while in other classes it is harder to connect with the rest of the students. I also like Leadership because we are allowed to do more things instead of...

End of the Summer Blog

Image
Now that the summer has ended and school is starting soon, I feel prepared for the year thanks to my bridge and workdays experience. Before I had the thought of joining the program, I didn't even know of it or consider it. My mom had saw the program and wanted me to join it. I received the papers and after a couple of weeks I went to the interview. I was very nervous and during the interview I had tried to remain calm. I had written a poem from my interview and I was very scared when Alissia started to laugh in the middle of it. She apologized but I felt so scared and it made me want to leave. The interview ended and I saw my friend, Riselle, enter the room as I left.  When I got the results I was ecstatic and when I saw that Riselle also got in, I was super happy for her.          Our first day of bridge was on June 7th and as it came closer I was more and and more nervous. When the day came, I walked onto camp...
