Quarter Blog #3

Hello ‘Ilima      This has so far been the most busiest quarter yet. We have had so many different projects and events this quarter that is is actually insane. The sheer amount of stuff we did was crazy. First of all, there was spirit week, graduation picture taking, two family nites, recognition night, and elementary school dance competition. The biggest of these events was Spirit Week. It spans, you guessed it, a week and has so many different parts to it. I had a lot of work during that time period, but I enjoyed the week overall. The different dress ups was fun and the big team events were so exciting. Those big team events were Cheer Off and Relay Race. Cheer Off was such an amazing environment and I loved performing. Relay Race was very exhilarating and seeing the players advance was so fun to watch. Next, graduation picture taking was a two day event where we had to dress up the 8th graders for their graduation pictures. It was pretty awkward having to dress the pe...

Weekly Blog #26: Dance Till You Drop

Hello ‘Ilima      This week was so crazy that I can barely even process all of the events. First of all, graduation picture taking was this week and it was pretty awkward. For the event, we had to dress the 8th graders in the shirt and gown and then take id off when they are done. Having to dress the people was kind of uncomfortable for me because I had to get so close to the people. Then, there was the Elementary School Dance Competition and it was exciting. I was pretty exhausted by the end from all of the standing, but seeing the dancing was cool. The show started with the Southside Breakers and they were great. They are a group of guys who can breakdance really well. The schools then performed after and my personal favorite was August Ahrens, but Ho’okele won wh...

Hello 'Ilima      This week has been so long and I am exhausted. Let's start with Spirit Week. It was definitely a new experience for me, but I was able to adapt. But something I couldn't adapt to was waking up at 5 am everyday. I was so tired but I just had to deal with it. Working at the tables in the morning became a routine and it fun. The different activities that occurred around the week was also pretty cool. There was scavenger hunt, mini activities, synchronized swimming, chain link, penny wars, relay race, and cheer off. I am gonna start with chain link and penny wars. Those activities happened from Mon-Thurs and needed money to get points or to make others lose points. Penny wars was way more competitive and people put so much money into the jars. Next is scavenger hunt and mini activities. Both required students to meet a certain requirement and they were drastically different. Mini activities were quiet and required brain power. Scavenger hunt was super ...
