Weekly Blog #25: Spirit Week Special

 Hello 'Ilima

This week has been so long and I am exhausted. Let's start with Spirit Week. It was definitely a new experience for me, but I was able to adapt. But something I couldn't adapt to was waking up at 5 am everyday. I was so tired but I just had to deal with it. Working at the tables in the morning became a routine and it fun. The different activities that occurred around the week was also pretty cool. There was scavenger hunt, mini activities, synchronized swimming, chain link, penny wars, relay race, and cheer off. I am gonna start with chain link and penny wars. Those activities happened from Mon-Thurs and needed money to get points or to make others lose points. Penny wars was way more competitive and people put so much money into the jars. Next is scavenger hunt and mini activities. Both required students to meet a certain requirement and they were drastically different. Mini activities were quiet and required brain power. Scavenger hunt was super loud with people running to get to A101. The people would literally form a swarm around A101. Finally, there was synchronized swimming, relay race, and cheer off. These events only happened once but were big. The synchronized swimming was the smallest as not all of the teams participated. But the dances were pretty good. Relay race was super exciting and high energy. It was such an amazing environment with how tense it was. Finally, cheer off was so amazing. All of the teams performed on the stage, some better than others. But the worse thing to happen across this whole week was 7-2 winning. All I have to say is, RIGGED!!! There was no way they should of won cheer off. They only had the Royal Prodigies dance while the rest of 7-2 was just clapping. 7-3 had everyone dance and we were actually good. This week also had Family Nite and this one was kind of chill. I worked at a Heads Up booth and all we had to do was explain the game and hand over the cards. There is way more I can do to describe this week but that would take way too long.

A highlight from this week would be the cheer off and relay race. The adrenaline I had was crazy high and everyone was so excited. I loved every second of it and I would love to do it again. Another highlight from this week was Family Nite as I had fun and we made some silly jokes. Another highlight was dressing out for the Spirit Week days as I got to explore my catalog and I had some amazing outfits. The first lowlight would be 7-2 winning as there was no way they should of won. The next lowlight was waking up so early as I was dead tired. This week had it's ups and downs, but it was overall great.

The lesson I learned from this week was that staying low can be a key to success. So I was working at the 7-1 table for wristbands and penny wars and this is how I learned the lesson. 7-1 for most of the week had almost no activity. Like there jar wasn't even close to being full. I had thought that 7-1 couldn't have won penny wars as there was barely anything in it, but Mr. Ing pointed out how they would be the least negative since there wasn't as many bills or silver coins. It made me learn that if you just don't get noticed, it can carry you to a win. But 7-1 then got a bunch of silver coins on Friday so sucks for them. This concludes my blog and I hope you have a great week. Cheers to another day!
