Hello ‘Ilima You’ve been traveling on foot for the past couple of days now and you are starving. Your supply of water ran out and you are desperate for a resting place. Out of the corner of your eye, you see a wooden cabin. You knock on the front door and an old man answers your knocks. He had gray, curly hair and has a built stature. His eyes look tired and his hands look dirty. “Oh hello there, do you need anything?” You explain your situation and the man lets you in. He allows you to stay in his house for all long as you needed to. You wash up in his bath as he prepares you a meal. You interest is piqued and you want to hear what he has to say. “It all start...

Weekly Blog #35: It's Almost Over

Hello 'Ilima There is only 3 more days of school and I couldn't be more excited. It's has felt like a decade has gone by, but 7th grade is only now coming to a close. This was the last full week of school and it was pretty eventful. The week started off with free lunch from Ms. Chen for good SBA scores which was pretty cool. We were served Panda Express and it tasted pretty good. I filled my plate with teriyaki and orange chicken, accompanied with fried rice. My friends and I got to talk while stuffing our mouth with delicious food which was definitely fun. Then there was Awards Night. I was very excited for the event because I wanted to be able to get recognized for all my showings of academic ability and service to the school. For the event we were able to sit with out families which was nice as I wanted to be with my family when I needed to go up to get my award. It started with the sports which definitely went on for a long time because of the amount of different categ...

Hello 'Ilima Tick! Tick! Tick! The clock is counting down as the fourth quarter is almost done. This quarter has had a lot of ups and downs, so it's time to reverse the clock and look back at all that we have done. The quarter started with the last Family Nite of the year which was pretty fun. But the big thing that was to come was Orientation. We had been practicing and preparing for this moment for the whole year, and we made sure to go all out. It was very nerve racking to do the orientation in front of all those 6th graders, but we all stepped up to the moment and I would say it went really well. I made a couple of mistakes early on, but I fixed them up and ultimately succeeded in helping the future students. Overall, I enjoyed Orientation a lot, but I was glad that it was over because I was wanting to show what I had done quicker. Following this was the Royal Prodigies Dance Competition which was so fun. The beginning of the competition was pretty bad for me, mainly beca...
