Weekly Blog 3-7 (60): Meeting of the Victors

Image
Hello 'Ilima What is up ‘Ilima! This week of school was much more of a ramp up week as next week is the big one. But that doesn’t mean this week wasn’t full of stuff to do. The biggest school event would be the Graduation Meeting. During this meeting, parents would learn about the 8th grade graduation and learn about the different parts of the graduation. There wasn’t very much to do as a leadership member, but it was still good to hear about the information for my graduation. That was the only school event, but I still had a bunch of class work. First, we have had this project in Computer Science where we need to guide a robot from one point to another. This project has been pretty frustrating at times because the robot sometimes just doesn’t do what you want it to do. And it’s hard to make changes to your programming because we are sharing the robot amongst the whole class, making it difficult to see the changes you make. I wish we had multiple robots in order for us to be able t...

Weekly Blog 3-6 (59): Shopping for Tests

Hello ‘Ilima What’s is up! This week was only 4 days long, but was still full of many things. Starting with Leadership related things, we had the second Recognition Night of the year on Thursday. There was a lot less people this time, but it was still fun to cheer on the people who got good grades. I had gotten a 4.0 and walking up on stage was cool. The most interesting part of Recognition Night was what happened before it as me and some people from Leadership had fun doing random things outside. We had a race, listened to music, and more. Moving onto school stuff, we had the Science SBA this week. I was pretty anxious because I had no idea what to expect for the test. So when I first opened the test, I was met with a lot of things that I had not learned before. But I endured the pain and after two classes, I finished my SBA with Level 4. It was a terrible experience, but at least I got a good score. Final thing I will mention is that there was an ELA poster that we had to create...

Weekly Blog 3-5 (58): John Eagle

Hello ‘Ilima  Welcome back 'Ilima, this week of school was pretty chill compared to the weeks before. The first and only real big thing was that my Leadership period needed to dress up as the Spirit Week outfits for the homeroom rep meeting. I was assigned as Movie Day and I had trouble coming up with an outfit. So I talked it over with my mom and we decided on a John Wick outfit. I already had an outerwear and pants, so we just needed to buy a black shirt for the underneath and a black tie. And when everything was bought and the outfit was put together, I felt like it was really nice. My hair didn't look like John Wick's, but the outfit itself was really nice. So when it was time for the homeroom rep meeting, I got my costume displayed and it was pretty cool. But that was probably the biggest Leadership related thing from this week. Before I move onto this next topic, let me intro it by showing you a quote from last week's blog. " So all of 8-3 welcomes Mr. Heloca...

Weekly Blog 3-4 (57): IT’S RAINING BALLS!

Image
Hello ‘Ilima Hello everyone! This week of school felt very long. So long, in fact, I don’t even know where I can begin. The biggest thing from this week would probably be the massive  amount of rain that flooded streets all around Hawaii on Thursday. I was told that rain was expected, but I was never told how much rain there was going to be. Picture this, I am in Computer Science just doing some work. From outside, I can hear so much rain. When some kids decided to take a look outside, it looked like a full tornado was going on. It was absolutely insane just how hard it was raining. The aftermath of all of the rain resulted in many deep puddles and bugs. It was very interesting to see all of the flooded parts of the campus, but my shoes were absolutely soaked. Moving on, a new intramural in Soccer Shootout started up. The objective was to hit the soccer ball into the net from different distances. The actual game itself was pretty boring because it was just people kicking the ...
