Weekly Blog 3-6 (59): Shopping for Tests

 Hello ‘Ilima

What’s is up! This week was only 4 days long, but was still full of many things. Starting with Leadership related things, we had the second Recognition Night of the year on Thursday. There was a lot less people this time, but it was still fun to cheer on the people who got good grades. I had gotten a 4.0 and walking up on stage was cool. The most interesting part of Recognition Night was what happened before it as me and some people from Leadership had fun doing random things outside. We had a race, listened to music, and more. Moving onto school stuff, we had the Science SBA this week. I was pretty anxious because I had no idea what to expect for the test. So when I first opened the test, I was met with a lot of things that I had not learned before. But I endured the pain and after two classes, I finished my SBA with Level 4. It was a terrible experience, but at least I got a good score. Final thing I will mention is that there was an ELA poster that we had to create, convincing people to watch/do something. I choose to make mine based of the anime, Frieren Beyond Journey's End. It looked really nice and it was very fun to make. But the part of the week that I have to give the most attention was Saturday. On Saturday, I went to the Ka Makana Ali'i with my friends and I had an awesome time. The day started at around 10 am when I was dropped off at the mall. I called my friends to ask where they were at they said there were at Hot Topic, so I headed over there and started looking for things to buy. There were some pants that I saw that looked really cool, but they costed a boat load of money and I walked out of the store with nothing. We then went to a couple small toy/anime stores but I either couldn't find anything or everything was too expensive. The next big stop was Macy's because of the sheer size of Macy's. We first went to the Toys R Us that was inside of the store and it was pretty cool. The even had a statue of Geoffrey and I made sure to take a couple of pictures with him. We then looked at all of the different clothing that was offered, but everything was so expensive. And expensive things were a main pattern of the trip because everything costed so much. I only items I had bought were a long sleeve from American Eagle and pants from H&M. But we were hungry from all the shopping and stopped at the food court. It took us a long time to decide what we were going to eat, but I ended up getting spicy beef ramen. I was pretty excited for the ramen, but I was left disappointed as the beef was pretty dry. The last major spot was Petco and it was just a fun little spot. But going there made me realize how good pets eat as they were steak, salmon, and chicken meals while students are fed school food. It was an overall very fun day and I had a great time hanging out with my friends.

My One Pager

The first highlight from this week would be going to the mall with my friends. I explained the major parts of the trip in the last paragraph, but there still a couple other parts that made the day so special. First of all, one of us bought a pack of rings and handed them out to each one of us (that were still there). I got this awesome silver ring with hearts on it and it's really nice. Then, two of my friends that were dating finally kissed and it was such an awesome moment. There was also so much anticipation built up because one of them was super nervous the whole time. We tried pushing him to get closer to his girlfriend, but he was just scared. So it was crazy when he was the one to kiss her! With all of that added built up, plus with the fact that we were all about to go home, it was just the perfect conclusion and the best end to an amazing day. The next highlight would be getting a nameplate. If you remember the trophy I got a couple of weeks ago for my fantasy football league, I had gotten a nameplate that had my name on it that could be added to the trophy. It was so awesome and was the best finishing part to my amazing trophy. My final highlight from this week would be going to karaoke with my family. For context, my family has been going to karaoke places ever since I've been born. It's a very special tradition for my family and we had another one of these events during this week. I had a lot of fun singing my heart out and I can't wait for more karaoke nights. The Big, Bad (and only) lowlight of the week would be SBA testing. It was so stressful and I was doubting my answers constantly. But I 

trusted my prior knowledge and I was able to survive the SBA.

The lesson that I learned from this week would be to always have faith in yourself. This comes in a couple of examples. First, SBA testing. I had absolutely 0 faith during the test because I wasn't confident in what I had learned. But throughout the test, I continued to disprove that doubt and was able to get a good score. So maybe if I had more faith in myself, I would have had a much better time and could have gotten an even higher score. The next example comes from my friends who are dating. The one who was scared was scared. Like trying to avoid eye-contact or close contact scared. It felt like he didn't have any faith in getting closer to his girlfriend, which he should have because he had all the ability too. He even was the one who initiated the kiss at the end of the day. But if he had more belief in himself throughout the day, I bet he could of had a much better time than the time he had.

For this week's set of Magic Notes, it was a bit tricky to decide on which one would win. There were so many different options to pick from that all had their own merits. What made it even worse was that all of my Magic Notes were wet which made reading them harder. But, I ultimately decided on two winners. These winners are..... Ariya and Sienna!!! I enjoyed Ariya's Magic Note for the humor that was involved and Sienna's was really nice because of the added compliments and callbacks from earlier in the week. So with these two winning, they enter the top 4 and close the gap with number 1. With that being said, this concludes my blog. I hope you have a great week! Cheers to another day!
