Weekly Blog #10: New Challengers Arrived

Image
Hello ‘Ilima      The second week of the 2nd quarter has gone by and the Leadership family has grown. Three GTs are now apart of our group and we spent our time helping them adjust. All three of them were put into my period which the others didn’t like but I didn’t mind. I knew all 3 of them because I was in the same Enrichment class as them. I was paired with Jacob which was the one I knew the most and he quickly learned how to do things. But the biggest challenge came when they had to design things on Canva. It was very simple and by definition they did a good job, but the mental toll was insane. My nightmares will be filled with Among Us and Sans with red smiles as by every second I felt my brain melt. My brain had at least had a good enough barrier in which I could withstand the pain but the others were folding. Reese and Alex were literally crying in the floor and Riselle had just given up on life. I still kept hope and they did eventually get it all done. I st...

Weekly Blog #9: Return to School

Welcome ‘Ilima      The 2nd quarter has started and we are already rolling. This week had one less day but we still did a lot. Drama has been the same ever since we started with us just playing games. I didn’t expect it to start so soon but it’s been good. One thing I have been really annoyed about is the bus pass. I had tried to get a new bus pass but I was handed a paper. I asked for a hard copy on a different day and they said that it hadn’t printed yet. Having to be stuck with the paper temporary pass is annoying because I have to open my bag to get the pass and then close it which takes a while because my bag is heavy. We also had a math test in the first week which is not cool. The math test was about the last unit we learned and I think I did well. We also switched the seating in math so that we are now in groups and not in columns. I worked music for this week and the schedule kept on changing because of other events that happened. Because of this, I worked ...

Retreat Blog

Hello 'Ilima       Leadership has just concluded their 3 day retreat and it was a wild time. We arrived on Wednesday and immediately we had lot's of things to do. To cover the work, it was mainly planning for the future which would help us get a timeline for the rest of the year. Doing the planning was good as it allowed us to have a good understanding of the year. There were also breakout sessions which were nice. The three breakout sessions were about goals, core values, and nice words. We had one session and Mr. Ing had asked us questions in the form of statements about different things. Two categories, list the last 5 Heisman winners and list the last 5 NBA MVPS, were ones that I were very confident and did really good at. The only mistake was Heisman winner as I forgot that DeVonta Smith won a Heisman. I guess the others mistakes would be over guessing as for the NBA one, I thought it meant the last 5 players to win and not the last 5 winners. Moving on, all of ...

Quarter Blog #1

Hello ‘Ilima       The end of the quarter is just a couple days away and it has been a long 2 months. Many events, projects, and silliness has happened and it’s all being retold here. Every event (from memory) was picture taking, open house, flag football, and Family Nite. Out of those events, my favorite was Family Nite because it was fun working the booth and not tiring. Open House was mainly outside for us so it got annoying, flag football was constantly being outside for 2 weeks which was terrible, and picture taking was just kind of boring. But I still like all of the events we did. Then there are the classes. To rank my classes it would be; 1. Leadership 2. Social Studies 3. Science 4. ELA 5. Math 6. AVID. Most of the classes deserve to be a bit higher as they are actually interesting and cool. But AVID is an outlier. AVID is so boring and so far we only have learned basic organization skills like having a binder, how to meditate, and SUTW which we alread...

Weekly Blog #8: Drowsy Dramatic

Welcome ‘Ilima      School ends in just a week and it’s time to celebrate. But I am so tired. We had the first Family Nite and I enjoyed it. I worked at the Financial Literacy booth and we just had to watch the people play the game that the teacher made. The game itself was based off the show, “Who Wants to be a Millionaire.” and it was fun. The other booths were also fun as they had a CPR practice doll, a wheel of questions, bean bags, and rockets. Thursday overall was exhausting as my mom’s surgery was also on that day. She is currently recovering and will come home soon. This week was also the start of Drama club and it was nothing like the one at Holomua. This one was smaller and we played a whole lot of games. It was very awkward as I was the only boy and I only knew one person. I also had very little sleep across the whole week as I had long events on Tuesday and Wednesday. But on Saturday, I met up with my Leadership period. We had a lot of fun and we watched...
