Weekly Blog #10: New Challengers Arrived



 Hello ‘Ilima

     The second week of the 2nd quarter has gone by and the Leadership family has grown. Three GTs are now apart of our group and we spent our time helping them adjust. All three of them were put into my period which the others didn’t like but I didn’t mind. I knew all 3 of them because I was in the same Enrichment class as them. I was paired with Jacob which was the one I knew the most and he quickly learned how to do things. But the biggest challenge came when they had to design things on Canva. It was very simple and by definition they did a good job, but the mental toll was insane. My nightmares will be filled with Among Us and Sans with red smiles as by every second I felt my brain melt. My brain had at least had a good enough barrier in which I could withstand the pain but the others were folding. Reese and Alex were literally crying in the floor and Riselle had just given up on life. I still kept hope and they did eventually get it all done. I still like the GT because they are my friends but I know the others are walking a thin line between total brain rot and their brain actually shutting down. But there was still Family Nite. This Family Nite was Social Studies themed and I was paired with Leyla to work on a matching booth. We didn’t understand how the game worked for like 10-20 minutes until the teacher came to tell us how it worked. Basically you had to match the amendment to the picture. It was kind of cool and for the whole Family Nite we just helped the families with understanding the game and giving them their stamp. I really like Family Nites because it is fun to work the booths and staying late is cool. The day after, we got to clean the cafeteria with the GT and folding the map took a while. I also was on TV this week which was slightly better than last time. I think I looked a bit better but I still hate how my voice sounds like. At this point, I think that is just how my voice sounds like normally which sucks because I hate it. We didn’t do much during school but we got a presentation from a person during Social Studies which is cool. This week definitely was chaotic with many different big things happening.

     A highlight from this week would be Family Nite because I really enjoyed working the booth and talking to the others. Eventually I will need my family to come but that can on another night. This next event is both a highlight and lowlight and it is the GT coming. It is a highlight because 3 of my friends were joining Leadership and I was very happy. Them coming was a lowlight because of how much mental main I experienced when they were creating their Canva designs. I felt my brain cells decreasing and my life expectancy dropping every second they were designing their projects but the product was good. 

     A lesson I learned was don’t be dumb. I think everyone knows this but not everyone does this. So big surprise, a volleyball got stuck in a tree. First of all, how do you get a volleyball stuck in a tree? Yes this is narcissistic as I have a gotten a volleyball stuck in a tree but that was months ago and this is now. Then they decided to throw the shoes in a way that it could get stuck at the top of the roof thing about the place where kids wait for the bus. And it got stuck at the top of the roof thing. The kid whose shoe got stuck up there also lost his other shoe to the tree. So the kid was walking around with no shoes while trying to get that volleyball out of the tree. Then when the security came with the pole, the kid could not aim at all and kept on missing the ball. It was painful to watch and if they had just done a couple more better decisions then they could have had gotten the ball out quicker or not have gotten the ball stuck in the tree at all. So just because you know not to be dumb, don’t be dumb.

     With the start of the second quarter, we introduce a new project called Magic Notes. Every week we write small notes of nice things to everyone in Leadership and in the blogs, we show our favorite one. My first favorite magic note is, a drum roll please 🥁🥁🥁🥁 Jewelyn!!! Her magic note was very nice and long, seriously it’s like a whole essay and she writes so small. We congratulate her with this award and here is the prize ⭐️ This will conclude the blog and I wish you the best. Cheers to another day!

Weekly Blog 3-7 (60): Meeting of the Victors

Hello 'Ilima What is up ‘Ilima! This week of school was much more of a ramp up week as next week is the big one. But that doesn’t mean this week wasn’t full of stuff to do. The biggest school event would be the Graduation Meeting. During this meeting, parents would learn about the 8th grade graduation and learn about the different parts of the graduation. There wasn’t very much to do as a leadership member, but it was still good to hear about the information for my graduation. That was the only school event, but I still had a bunch of class work. First, we have had this project in Computer Science where we need to guide a robot from one point to another. This project has been pretty frustrating at times because the robot sometimes just doesn’t do what you want it to do. And it’s hard to make changes to your programming because we are sharing the robot amongst the whole class, making it difficult to see the changes you make. Weekly Blog 3-6 (59): Shopping for Tests

 Hello ‘Ilima What’s is up! This week was only 4 days long, but was still full of many things. Starting with Leadership related things, we had the second Recognition Night of the year on Thursday. There was a lot less people this time, but it was still fun to cheer on the people who got good grades. I had gotten a 4.0 and walking up on stage was cool. The most interesting part of Recognition Night was what happened before it as me and some people from Leadership had fun doing random things outside. We had a race, listened to music, and more. Moving onto school stuff, we had the Science SBA this week. I was pretty anxious because I had no idea what to expect for the test. So when I first opened the test, I was met with a lot of things that I had not learned before. But I endured the pain and after two classes, I finished my SBA with Level 4. It was a terrible experience, but at least I got a good score. Final thing I will mention is that there was an ELA poster that we had to create...
