Weekly Blog #24: Project Crazy

Image
Hello 'Ilima      This week was kind of crazy. First of all, we had two different projects. First was the avid career project which I don't know if I mentioned, and a campaign poster for Social Studies. The campaign poster was for the two different sides of the 1874 election in Hawaii between Kalakaua and Queen Emma. I chose Kalakaua and I think my poster turned out pretty nice. This week, also had two friend birthday. Those people were Reese and Riselle so two days before, I had to buy gifts. I went to Pearlridge and I bought Riselle a Sanrio shirt and I got Reese a Bath and Body Works gift box. To describe the embarrassment of carrying around a Hello Kitty bag around public would be crazy. Another thing is, I finally received a jacket that I had been waiting months for. The jacket was from my favorite band, Good Kid. This week, we also had a lot of substitutes for classes. The AVID sub made us think the project was due earlier than we thought it was, but it was just a m...

Weekly Blog #23: Recognized Pain

Image
Hello 'Ilima     This week was pretty up and down for me for a couple of reasons. First, we had Recognition Night which was super fun. This Recognition Night had less people come which made the job a bit easier, but it was still good work. After the event, my throat was hurting so much from all of the screaming I was doing. Also after the event, I realized that I had lost my ID. I looked everywhere and I couldn't find it. My ID included my bus pass which made finding it more important. But I couldn't find it anywhere so I gave up and spent $10 on replacements. But the next day, security just found my ID and now I had two IDS, two bus passes, and -$10. To bring in some more happiness, my family and I went to a steakhouse for a valentine's celebration. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was so high quality. So of course, with all of this happiness, there needs to be some negativity and this week we had a math test, a science test, and two essays. All due i...

Weekly Blog #22: Superbowl Sunday!

Image
Hello 'Ilima      This week of school was not very eventful, but the Superbowl was this week which was exciting. My whole family were rooting for the 49ers and to see them lose in such a frustrating game was terrible. There was so many ways in which we could of won and we just didn't. But spending that time with my family and having fun was the main thing. I also removed the braids in my hair and when I first washed it, all of my hair dropped and it looked really straight. On Thursday, my mom returned from her trip to the mainland and I was so happy to see her again. She talked about her trip and we helped unpack her 3 suitcases. We had an essay to do in ELA about overcoming adversity and I finished it pretty quickly. I had a draft that I just fixed and changed to make it better, so I was able to do it all quickly. Yearbook verification was also this week and it was fine. I worked with Dylan and we didn't have any troubles in the verification process. Overall, this ...

Weekly Blog #21: Happy Birthday!

Image
Hello ‘Ilima      This week of school was super exciting. First of all, we had a leadership birthday party and we ate food and had fun. We all made birthday hats and signed in a card. We sang happy birthday and I definitely had the high notes. Then, during after school sales, I experienced some of the most mental pain ever. One kid bought 15 iced teas and another kid bought all of the Twinkie's. Both of these moments were so mentally draining as having to restock all of those items was painful. Homeroom Rep meeting was this week and we had to dress up as the different spirit week clothing. I didn’t think I had to dress up but I was handed an aloha shirt and I just went with it. Overall, this week has been pretty fun.   Birthday  Aftermath      A highlight from this week was the birthday party as I had a fun time singing happy birthday and I enjoyed the food served. Another highlight was something that I haven't mentioned yet. On Wednesday, D...
