Weekly Blog #24: Project Crazy

Hello 'Ilima

This week was kind of crazy. First of all, we had two different projects. First was the avid career project which I don't know if I mentioned, and a campaign poster for Social Studies. The campaign poster was for the two different sides of the 1874 election in Hawaii between Kalakaua and Queen Emma. I chose Kalakaua and I think my poster turned out pretty nice. This week, also had two friend birthday. Those people were Reese and Riselle so two days before, I had to buy gifts. I went to Pearlridge and I bought Riselle a Sanrio shirt and I got Reese a Bath and Body Works gift box. To describe the embarrassment of carrying around a Hello Kitty bag around public would be crazy. Another thing is, I finally received a jacket that I had been waiting months for. The jacket was from my favorite band, Good Kid. This week, we also had a lot of substitutes for classes. The AVID sub made us think the project was due earlier than we thought it was, but it was just a misunderstanding. On Friday, I literally almost missed the bus. I was walking around the campus as usual and I noticed my friend get up to start leaving. I realized that the bus must of been there so I had to run across the whole courtyard to get to the bus. I was so exhausted when I finally got on the bus, but I couldn't have missed that bus. Overall, this week was pretty crazy.

A highlight from this week was seeing my friend's reactions to the gifts I got them. It took me like 30 minutes of walking around the mall to find the right gifts so I was super happy that they liked the gifts. Another highlight was getting the jacket after waiting since November. I was super excited getting the jacket and I am definitely gonna try find a way to wear it often. A lowlight from this week was having all of the subs cause I like my original teachers and having other teachers is lame. Another lowlight was almost missing the bus because if I had missed it then that would have been terrible. But this week was more positive than negative.

The lesson I learned from this week is to never be afraid to ask for help. I have two examples from this week, one where I did ask and one where I didn’t. I was having trouble with my math homework and I decided to ask for help which allowed me to understand the work. The other example is that when shopping for gifts, I didn’t know what to get for Reese and instead of asking one my friends who knows Reese well, I just guessed but luckily she liked the gift. So asking for help will usually give you better results then if you don’t ask for help.

This week had a lot of good magic notes, and some newcomers, so let's see who comes on top. In our honorable mentions we have.............. Cherish and Valerie! This was their very first magic notes, and I think they did a great job. The winners for this week are........... Riselle, Reese, and Jewelyn! All of your magic notes were really cool and I enjoyed reading them. Our new leaderboard is looking like Jewelyn w/12, Reese w/9.5, Gabby and Riselle w/4.5, Mal and Zhalea w/3, Naomi, Dominic and Jayden w/2, Jayna, Cherish, and Valerie w/.5, and everyone else with 0. The competition has some brand new faces so let's see who can win. With that being said, this concludes my blog and I wish you the best. Cheers to another day!
