Weekly Blog #21: Happy Birthday!







 Hello ‘Ilima

     This week of school was super exciting. First of all, we had a leadership birthday party and we ate food and had fun. We all made birthday hats and signed in a card. We sang happy birthday and I definitely had the high notes. Then, during after school sales, I experienced some of the most mental pain ever. One kid bought 15 iced teas and another kid bought all of the Twinkie's. Both of these moments were so mentally draining as having to restock all of those items was painful. Homeroom Rep meeting was this week and we had to dress up as the different spirit week clothing. I didn’t think I had to dress up but I was handed an aloha shirt and I just went with it. Overall, this week has been pretty fun.

Aftermath

     A highlight from this week was the birthday party as I had a fun time singing happy birthday and I enjoyed the food served. Another highlight was something that I haven't mentioned yet. On Wednesday, Dylan had a lot of oranges during lunch and one of my friends was told about it 4 different times in a row. So the rest of my friends decided to get a bunch of random people to tell them about Dylan's oranges. It was really funny and I decided to make it more funny by telling one of my teachers to ask them about Dylan's oranges. I am planning something even bigger which should be funny. A lowlight from this week would be the guy buying 15 iced teas because it was very annoying. This week was definitely more good then bad.

     A lesson I learned from this week is to have good coordination. For the birthday party, we were trying to sing happy birthday at the same time but we failed miserably. People were singing to fast or slow and it different tones which just made a messy sounding song. Having better coordination could of made the song sound a lot better. 

This week had some pretty good magic notes, so let's see who comes on top. In our honorable mentions we have.............. Riselle! I really liked your magic note this week, mainly because of the drawings, but we had some other really good ones. The winners for this week are........... Zhalea, Reese, and Jewelyn! Your magic notes were so kind and great. Our new leaderboard is looking like Jewelyn w/9, Reese w/6.5, Gabby w/3.5, Riselle w/2.5, Zhalea, Dominic, Mal, and Jayden w/2, Naomi w/1, Jayna w/.5, and everyone else with 0. The battle is getting more intense. With that being said, this concludes my blog and I wish you the best. Cheers to another day!

Hello 'Ilima As I lay down on my bed, my phone starts ringing.  "Hey, it's John from the Book Club! Are you ready for the first meeting?" Oh no! I panic. Weekly Blog 3-7 (60): Meeting of the Victors

Hello 'Ilima What is up ‘Ilima! This week of school was much more of a ramp up week as next week is the big one. But that doesn’t mean this week wasn’t full of stuff to do. The biggest school event would be the Graduation Meeting. During this meeting, parents would learn about the 8th grade graduation and learn about the different parts of the graduation. There wasn’t very much to do as a leadership member, but it was still good to hear about the information for my graduation. That was the only school event, but I still had a bunch of class work. First, we have had this project in Computer Science where we need to guide a robot from one point to another. This project has been pretty frustrating at times because the robot sometimes just doesn’t do what you want it to do. And it’s hard to make changes to your programming because we are sharing the robot amongst the whole class, making it difficult to see the changes you make. Weekly Blog 3-6 (59): Shopping for Tests

 Hello ‘Ilima What’s is up! This week was only 4 days long, but was still full of many things. Starting with Leadership related things, we had the second Recognition Night of the year on Thursday. There was a lot less people this time, but it was still fun to cheer on the people who got good grades. I had gotten a 4.0 and walking up on stage was cool. The most interesting part of Recognition Night was what happened before it as me and some people from Leadership had fun doing random things outside. We had a race, listened to music, and more. Moving onto school stuff, we had the Science SBA this week. I was pretty anxious because I had no idea what to expect for the test. So when I first opened the test, I was met with a lot of things that I had not learned before. But I endured the pain and after two classes, I finished my SBA with Level 4. It was a terrible experience, but at least I got a good score. Final thing I will mention is that there was an ELA poster that we had to create...
