Weekly Blog 2-6 (49): Eggs, Tacos, and Hexagons

Hello 'Ilima This has so far been one of the most eventful weeks of school. We had the last family nite of the year, lots of school projects, and more. Starting off with the family nite, it was themed off the electives and for this year, Leadership was making a booth. SBG was in charge of it and we came up with some good ideas. We were going to play music, display yearbooks and vests, and play old broadcasts so they could see all of the different things we do. We also designed a pamphlet to hand out that turned out really great. The images were pretty nice and I think the writing really summed up Leadership in a good way. After setting up the booth, SBG were the ones who got to work it and it was fine. I personally didn’t get a deep conversation with a parent about Leadership, but there were some people who seemed interested which is amazing. Moving on, I was on TV again and I had some truly amazing skits this week. The first day, I puffed my hair up to look like a huge Afro. I wi...

Weekly Blog 2-5 (48): Vocal Corns

Hello 'Ilima This week of school had a lot going on. First of all, we had the start of Intramural Cornhole. It was supposed to start last week but due to weather, it kept on getting pushed back. Our job for the event was to just pass the bags back and keep people in check until the scoring rounds came. That part was easy but the hard part was having to miss out on something useful like working on projects or talking with friends. Doing cornhole means that all of our freetime snaps away and for that time to be used for an event that nobody cares about is really funny. There were also issues with the schedules because of all the push backs which caused some chaos. But we always clean it up and the event went mostly smoothly. The other big thing from this week was Recognition Night. It was the first Recognition Night of the year and it was packed. There were over 200 kids to get honor roll and a majority of them showed up. Our jobs were pretty simple and the whole night went well. Th...

Weekly Blog 2-4 (47): Nobody Nose

Hello 'Ilima This week of school was rather a blur with there only being four days. The interesting parts of my week came outside of school but I will speak on that later. To begin, this week was supposed to be the start of cornhole, but it kept on getting pushed back. I was honestly happy that it was because every time we have an activity like cornhole, it requires hours of standing in the heat which my immune system can't take well. But with the lack of cornhole, it kind of left a hole of what to do. There wasn't much volume in this week for Leadership so we can move on to academics. One word could be used to describe this academic week. Tests. Social Studies, Algebra, and Financial Literacy all had different tests and varying difficulties. The hardest one by far would be the Algebra test. It took me a whole period to finish and I ended up with a 37/42 that got boosted to a 40/42 because I did the extra credit. It was a pretty stressful test and I know a lot of the other...

Weekly Blog 2-3 (46): The Halloween Week Hole

Image
Hello 'Ilima This week of school was a much needed break from the exhaustion I had last week. The main selling point of this week was the long awaited Halloween. During the weeks before, I had been struggling to come up with a costume. Nothing was appealing to me until I had the perfect idea. A character that rivals the level of fame as I. Satoru Gojo. Once I had the idea, I ordered the right shirt and wig. But, the wig wasn't going to come in time so my mom and I went to Party City to look for a wig. There wasn't a lot of good options, with the only decent wig being some anime wig. We ended up buying the anime wig with the plan of styling it to make it better. Using a mixture of molding clay and hairspray, we spiked the wig up and gave it more volume. Then, when everything arrived, I put on the costume and it looked pretty nice. The only change I would have would be the wig cause I wish it could have more spikes. Arriving to school in the costume, people instantly recogni...
