Weekly Blog #19: Proud and Stressed

 Hello 'Ilima

This week really flew by quickly but a lot still happened. First of all, I hurt my ankle which made walking hurt a lot. Like every single step I would feel pain. But I'm lucky that the left ankle healed quickly. I also finished my I-Ready Diagnostics which were stressful. I went down 2 in I-Ready Reading but I still got a 691 which is really good. In Math, I got a 591 which was my personal highest score across all grades. But man, it really went down to the wire. I literally finished the last 40% of the Math Diagnostic on the last day you could finish it. The science and social studies projects have been going good so far, the science project has some good research but I just need to add it to the slideshow. The social studies project has some good research as well and the slideshow should be posted soon. But the main thing to think about is the Leadership interviews. My interview is on the 22nd (which is going to be the day that I post it because I forgot my magic notes 😞) and I am very nervous. It isn't helping that I still haven't gotten my 2nd recommendation letter (Update: I just received an email from the teacher saying that they have the letter 😁). My presentation is looking pretty good and I just have to finish it up. Overall, this week went by pretty quick but it was good.

 My Left Ankle Being Hurt

Me and Jacob Waiting for Bus (It came at 3:10 PM)

A highlight from this week would be seeing my I-Ready math score because I had never seen such a high score in math before. I told some of the other leadership members and they were also shocked. A lowlight from this week was hurting my left ankle because it made walking really hard for like 2-3 days. Another lowlight was having to wait until 3:10 ish for my bus to arrive, I probably could of walked to my house before the bus would of gotten there and dropped me off.

I learned multiple lessons from this week so I'll start off with a good product takes time. I might of said this before but the I-Ready Diagnostics were a perfect example of that as it literally took me until the last day to finish it, yet I got really high scores. Another lesson I learned is to stop doing active things while you are injured. I literally jumped while having a bad ankle, what did I expect? Finally, other peopled don't care about how long they take. There is two examples of this. First of all, the bus coming at 3:10 is just so terrible, what if I had something really important but the bus came at 3:10 and I didn't actually get home until 3:50. Then, my friend ordered Burger King and it took 20+ minutes for it to be ready. It's literally called fast food, why would you have to wait 20 minutes for the supposed to be fast food. It's just terrible but there were the lessons I learned from this week.

Now, the first magic note winners of this semester. But we have to start off with the honorable mentions. They are Jayden, Dominic, and Gabby. Your magic notes were really good but just not enough. So, the first winners are Reese and Jewelyn. Great job. The leaderboard is looking like Jewelyn w/7, Reese w/5, Gabby w/2.5, Riselle, Dominic, and Jayden w/2, Mal w/1.5, Naomi and Zhalea w/1, Jayna w/.5, and everyone else with 0. The competition is fierce as ever. With that being said, this concludes my blog and I wish you the best. Cheers to another day!
