Weekly Blog #17: Locked In

 Hello ‘Ilima

Another week goes by and we are just a couple days away from break. I’m so excited and this past week has been good. I finished up my yearbook page which I spent the whole week on. Some classes were really difficult to get pictures of because it was usually too dark but it all worked out in the end. I can’t wait for the finished product. Then, we had a science project this week. We basically had to find a way to terraform Mars with and then have to present it. My group’s idea was a full on operation to build factories on Mars. The presentation went well and the other group’s ideas were also good. The NHD project is at the point that we can start turning it in and I have been working on improving it so then I can put it into competition. We also had to try out a new curriculum in ELA which was boring. It was so long and they asked for too many things. At least I got the extra credit. The cover picture for the yearbook was starting to get made and I think it looks really good. Finally, I got to start teaching my dance and we got a lot done which is great. Overall this week was a lot of work but that means that I got a lot done

Leadership Shinning Their Lights Over the Cover

A highlight from this week was going around the campus taking pictures for my yearbook page because it was fun and the end result was satisfying. Another highlight was the Kahoots we got to play during math. I should have won the 2nd one but I got 2nd place even though I got all of the questions correct. A lowlight from this week was trying out the new ELA curriculum because it was just very boring and I didn’t enjoy doing it.

A lesson I learned from this week was that momentum is key. This might sound weird but I have 2 examples from this week which shows that momentum is important. #1: Working on the yearbook was slow at the start but as I kept on getting more photos, I got faster and faster which made my work more efficient. #2: In the Kahoot, I went on a long streak of getting every question correct which crossed over multiple matches just because I was locked in. Getting a good rhythm makes work more quick and efficient. This concludes my blog and I wish you the best. Cheers to another day!
