Weekly Blog 1-3 (38): Snapshot of Time

This week of school was a slightly busy week of school with picture taking going on through Monday to Thursday. The three (kind of 2) jobs during picture taking is simple. 1. Greeter. This person stays outside and when a class comes, they greet them and ask them to get into alphabetical order. Once they are in order, you simply bring them inside. The other job(s) is the Stage People. Some people wait on the left side of the stage and they make sure that everyone is in dress code. The person on the right side simply directs the people to where they sit. I worked all 3 jobs so I can rank them in how much I liked them. Or I could if I didn’t have many different opinions on them. The Greeter is probably my least favorite cause you have to A. Interact with people. and B. It’s pretty boring. The only upside is that you are basically on break once everyone is inside. Then there is left side stage. This is probably the real worse job and not the Greeter because there is around the same amount of talking, similar amounts of boring, and you don’t get the same break as the Greeter. Then there is the best one which is right side stage. This job is by far the easiest with the least human interaction. So my order from best to worst would be 1. Right Side Stage 2. Greeter 3. Left Side Stage. Besides picture taking, 7th Grade Elections happened on Friday. All the candidates were from Leadership which means that we won’t have any new people. Two of the positions have only one person so the only position that has a race is Secretary. I think I know who is gonna win, but it’s still anyone’s game. In other news, I was on TV for 4 out of the 5 days and it couldn’t have gone any better. Being on TV is probably my favorite job and I didn’t disappoint. Monday’s prop was a Rubix Cube, Tuesday’s was a Fedora and I did a sort of detective walk, Thursday’s was an Opera Mask, and Friday’s was a Donut. My favorite had to be the Opera Mask as it looked the nicest and had a fun story to it. I couldn’t figure out how to put the mask on for the life of me but I eventually had Ariya tie the mask again and it turned out great. During this week as well, I had a lot of people come up and tell me that they were a fan of me. This is probably my favorite part of TV, not for a pride reason but for a different reason. I do all these crazy openings to put a smile on other’s faces. School isn’t usually the happiest place for students and teachers, so a little bit of goofiness in the morning can really help others. Hearing people say they love my broadcasts reminds me that my goal to make other’s happy is really working. Besides that, this week was pretty normal. In Social Studies, we have continued on the NHD project and it’s so far going pretty good. My Science class is so loud and annoying, but it’s fine cause I still get the work done. And all of the other classes have been okay.

The highlights of this week starts out with TV. As stated previously, I love going on TV and putting smiles on people’s faces. Another highlight would be picture taking because it was just like a mental break in between the days which is always needed. The next highlight would be the Ewa Gentry Fair I went to. I was expecting a terrible time, but I actually had fun. I actually am getting a new phone as my mom was able to upgrades a couple of phones from an AT&T booth. I also got a Chuck E. Cheese hat which I was super excited about. The last highlight would be the Family Fantasy Football draft that I did. My family decided to do a Fantasy Football League on Yahoo and we had the draft recently. I’m very happy with my team and I think I can win the league if I manage my team well enough. I can’t really name a lowlight but if I had to, it would be schoolwork. I’m so done with school and it’s like the 2nd week. But I will overcome these challenges and prevail at the end.

The first lesson I learned from this week was during Financial Literacy where I learned about Credit Cards and Debt. All of what I’ve learned so far in Financial Literacy is some legitimate helpful advice and I can’t wait to see what else we will learn during this semester. The other lesson I learned is that you just sometimes have to ignore people. My Science class would be replaced with wild animals from the forest and no one would bat an eye. But I’ve just been ignoring them all of this time in order to get my work done. I hope this problem can get resolved eventually, or else I’m in for a long year. Weekly Blog 3-7 (60): Meeting of the Victors

Hello 'Ilima What is up ‘Ilima! This week of school was much more of a ramp up week as next week is the big one. But that doesn’t mean this week wasn’t full of stuff to do. The biggest school event would be the Graduation Meeting. During this meeting, parents would learn about the 8th grade graduation and learn about the different parts of the graduation. There wasn’t very much to do as a leadership member, but it was still good to hear about the information for my graduation. That was the only school event, but I still had a bunch of class work. First, we have had this project in Computer Science where we need to guide a robot from one point to another. This project has been pretty frustrating at times because the robot sometimes just doesn’t do what you want it to do. And it’s hard to make changes to your programming because we are sharing the robot amongst the whole class, making it difficult to see the changes you make. Weekly Blog 3-6 (59): Shopping for Tests

 Hello ‘Ilima What’s is up! This week was only 4 days long, but was still full of many things. Starting with Leadership related things, we had the second Recognition Night of the year on Thursday. There was a lot less people this time, but it was still fun to cheer on the people who got good grades. I had gotten a 4.0 and walking up on stage was cool. The most interesting part of Recognition Night was what happened before it as me and some people from Leadership had fun doing random things outside. We had a race, listened to music, and more. Moving onto school stuff, we had the Science SBA this week. I was pretty anxious because I had no idea what to expect for the test. So when I first opened the test, I was met with a lot of things that I had not learned before. But I endured the pain and after two classes, I finished my SBA with Level 4. It was a terrible experience, but at least I got a good score. Final thing I will mention is that there was an ELA poster that we had to create...
