Weekly Blog 1-4 (39): It’s the End that Matters Most
Hello ‘Ilima
This was one wild week. So wild in fact, I don’t know where to start. I guess we can start with Intramural Flag Football. We only had Flag Football for 3 days due to bad weather during the other days, but it was still very crazy. Out of all of the days from Flag Football, the most eventful had to be the second day which was I think Thursday. There were 2 main things that made this one day the most memorable. The first was the injuries. Multiple kids got bloody noses and one kid couldn’t breathe. Something that is funny not funny is that when I first saw the kid who wasn’t breathing, I didn’t know he wasn’t breathing so I told the person who was working to mark the kid as out of the box since his arms were over the line. I feel pretty bad now that I look back and know the context, but it’s whatever. The other thing from that day was how stupid some of the people were. One class decided to be in the same box as another class which made the counting so messed up and confusing. Then, apparently a kid was playing on the field who wasn’t even in the right advisory and refused to go back. But I wasn’t watching it happen so I don’t know the full story. The rest of Flag Football was just fine. I wish the games were more exciting because most of people barely put effort into the game. To make this week even more crazy, there was 3 different tests. The most stressful one was the Unit 1 Test for Math. I spent a long time studying the different types of Rigid Transformations, preparing for the test. Once the test was actually in front of my face, I went above and beyond to try make sure I didn’t miss anything. I reread the questions, made sure to show my work, and double checked my work like 4 times. A quadruple check. All of this effort was worth it because I got a 27/24 on the test. The other tests were a bit simpler. The Financial Literacy test was a fill in the blank type of quiz and all of the answers were from a Kahoot we did. I finished the Financial Literacy test all correct. The last test was for Science and it was about graphing. We had so much time to study that I was just able to memorize everything and ace the test. Now to get onto the non related school stuff, this week had a lot of birthdays. Monday was my mainland friend’s birthday, Tuesday was my mom’s birthday, and Wednesday was Jacob’s birthday. We properly celebrated all 3 birthdays and I had a lot of fun. Finally, the best part of the week was vacation. On Friday, my family took a flight to Big Island where we are staying until Monday. I’ve had so much fun so far and I’ve just been really grateful for this trip. We went to a volcano, explored lava tubes, ate amazing food, and even climbed Mauna Kea. It was so amazing and I still have one day left. This is the main reason why the title of this blog is called “It’s the End that Matters Most”. This week might have been super crazy, but at the end, I’m in a hotel room on the Big Island after a full day of fun.
The first highlight from this week has to be my vacation. If I have to give some specific details, one of my favorite parts was the food. The best thing I had was a Lobster Mac and Cheese that was so delicious. It was creamy, cheesy, and flavorful. I also had some good chocolate, tasty pizza, and really great kalbi. Something about Big Island that is different from Ohau is the temperature. I was so cold at certain points, especially when climbing down from Mauna Kea Another highlight from this week was for the third time, the fun I had with my friends. The lunch of Wednesday was probably the most legendary lunch ever. So much happened that it would probably take a blog of its one to explain. But I just have to say that I am so grateful to have my friends and that I am able to spend the time I do with them. A lowlight from this week would be Flag Football. I really didn’t want to be there for the whole time and I was just exhausted for all of the days. The other lowlight would also be the tests we had to do. There was so much work that we had to do and I was just so tired after all those tests. Oh, that reminds me of NHD. I recently found a partner for my project so it should be much easier to complete my topic. This goes in the highlight category btw. Overall, this week was exhausting but had some really high highs.
The main lesson I learned from this week that I eluded to earlier was that it’s not about how you start, but how you finish. This week was so crazy and exhausting that I could have just passed out for the whole weekend, but I was able to have so much fun over this week, despite the tiring start. I also learned that I should probably do my research before going head first into things. I climbed up Mauna Kea with no gloves or tissues and I would soon regret it. My hands were about to freeze off and my nose was desperate to be blown. So if I ever need to climb a mountain again, I know what I need to bring. But I should also do some research into the mountain I am climbing. With that being said, this concludes my blog. I hope you have an amazing week. Cheers to another day!
