Step 1 of moving into a house is cleaning. I went through all of the rooms with my towel and spray bottle and started to clean. Along the way, I found a lot of cool relics like shell necklaces or decks of cards. But there was one thing that stood out the most. When I went to the basement to clean, I noticed a secret room that you could only see the entrance to at a specific angle. I walked into the room and all that was there was a dusty bookshelf with a singular book on it. It had a dark red, almost maroon, hard cover with gold engraved numbers saying "2425". Curiosity took over and I opened it up. I sat down and started reading Chapter 1, Summer.
This summer started off totally different from last summer. I began this summer exhausted, awaiting the first day of Bridge. I had one main plan for Bridge, make a good first impression. I was going to be a 8th grader and I was going to have to take care of 7th graders so I wanted them to have a positive opinion of me. To do this, I wanted to be very energetic and out there so then they felt more comfortable around me. When the first day eventually came around, I anxiously arrived to school and headed to the cafe. This time, I was able to sit next to the others and actually kind of talked. We waited for everyone to arrive and then the different summer clubs were separated into where they were going. Leadership headed to the same circle of benches and while sitting there, Ms. Shayna had us introduce ourselves. We then started working on activities like making a flag and creating our goal buckets. I left Bridge that day sort of excited. The new people seemed cool, the activities were fun, and I felt comfortable.

My Friends and I on First Day
The rest of Bridge went on very smoothly. We had did a whole lot of activities from filming TikToks, to playing Frisbee Golf, and even a lockdown! The lockdown was a bit weird, what happened is that while filming the TikToks, a guy on a motorcycle was riding through the campus while carrying a gun. We all had to go into the cafeteria where we were kept until we were safe. Going back to more fun things, the Frisbee Golf turned out pretty good. For the 2 games we did, I always started off well but then I would fall of a cliff. There was also connections where The Murders (my team) dominated The Sigmas (the losing team). There is so much other small games that we did that were super fun like magic carpet, pickleball, and guess which food was expired, hint: it's all of them. We even had a field trip to the Swap Meet. It was super exciting as it was my first Swap Meet and I bought baseball cards and a flute. Overall, Bridge was pretty fun.

Workdays started and contrary to what Mr. Ing was saying, I was fine with Workdays. It's just a lot of cleaning which I'm good at so I didn't have a problem with it. We got to learn our periods and I was Period 1 with Group Leader Alex, 8th Grader Mikayla, and 7th Graders Gledys and Cheyanne. On the first day, we had to replace the bulletin boards which was by far my least favorite thing in all of Workdays. It's the bad kind of exhausting where you don't feel like you did a lot, yet you are still tired. But the rest of Workdays went well and we eventually got to the Meet and Great. It was amazing to see my 8th graders, now Freshman, again. They broke us into groups and had to design a group poster. After that, we had to make a dance and I actually liked it a lot. My favorite part was where I got pushed away from the group and then I turned into bowling ball and knocked them all down. After the Meet and Greet, it was time for Schedule Pick Up. My job was Name Caller and I had to make a pack that consists of planner, paper pack, picture taking envelope, and the student's ID and then gave it to the students. I worked with Marsali and we had a good strategy of preparing these packs ahead of time so we wouldn't be fumbling to make them. The job was very monotonous and on the first day, I felt like I was going to pass out. But I barely survived and there was just one more day. I actually ate a bit of breakfast that day which helped me stay awake which resulted in the 2nd day being much easier for me. Overall, Schedule Pick Up turned out pretty good and I felt happy with the part I had. The rest of Workdays was just more Schedule Pick Up and we can almost say goodbye to the Summer.

The last part of this summer was the End of the Summer Field Trip. I was much more prepared this summer, bringing swim clothes and towel. My snack of choice to bring was granola bars and I excitedly waited when I got dropped off at school. This Field Trip was going to be my first day back in 2 days as I had a funeral service the days beforehand and so I wanted to make a good entrance. I was going to bring handcuffs but my mom said no so I brought my Ben-10 watch and some pink glasses. Once my entrance was done, I waited for the bus to come. For the trip, our phones would be taken away and so we would need to make our own entertainment. The bus eventually came and we all piled on into the bus. The ride to the beach was pretty good and I just spent the time talking to the others. Once we got there, we set up our little area and we were free. Jayden, Jacob, and I started playing games with my ball but we quickly noticed how everyone was going to beach so we decided to change and head there. We spent majority of the day there and I did a mix of "swimming" and finding rocks. Eventually it was time to eat and it was the Leadership Dinner. My head was hurting a bit but the food was still pretty good. We then shared our Bio Cube with an alumni and that was good. I was with Valerie and Jayden and Jayden gave us some nice advice for the year. The last activity was to head over to Magic Island and watch the firework show. The walk was pretty easy and we got there with time to spare. Once the fireworks started, it was very nice and it was really amazing to see the others all crowd together to watch it. The bus eventually came and it was the end of our summer.

Recreation of a Photo from Last Year
This summer was very eventful with so many things, not even Leadership related, going on. So let's categorize them in one of the only ways I can, highlights and lowlights. The first highlight of this summer was my Nana flying into Hawaii. She came here for one week to help my family with the funeral service for my Grandpa and she was so amazing. We spent a lot of time together and I was glad that she came to Hawaii. Another highlight was the Swap Meet field trip as that was super exciting and walking around and shopping with my friends was very fun. A different highlight would a game that I was anticipating finally arriving. I was so excited and I immediately started playing it nonstop. The last highlight I'll cover is meeting the 7th graders as they all are very cool and I can't wait to spend a full year with them. The first of the lowlights was waking up early during the summer. If I wasn't in Leadership, I would be sleeping till 10 and be super well rested. But that's a different universe and in this one, I'm tired. But at least the days were for only 3 hours. Another lowlight was the first day of Schedule Pick Up. I was so lethargic and exhausted that I could barely keep my eyes open. At least the second day went much better. The last lowlight was realizing summer was going to end. I wished that the summer could just last forever because I knew that everything would get much more extreme once school started. Overall, summer was pretty good, only wished that it could last longer. Maybe like 104 days of summer.
Throughout the summer, I learned a lot of lessons about myself and others. One of these lessons is that it takes time to be liked. For some reason, the 7th graders were scared of me at the beginning so I had continue of being funny and happy in order for them to feel safe around me. So whenever I want to have friendships, I need to know that friends don't become friends in an instant. Another lesson I learned was that time doesn't stop for you. I would have loved for summer to never end and for my 8th graders to still be here, but life doesn't work that way. The future doesn't wait for me and I just need to let time keep on passing through. A different kind of lesson I learned was that I learned about the people around me. I learned how they are, what they like, and how they respond to things. Learning these things so early on will definitely help me throughout the year. All of these lessons have helped me a lot, but I will still learn a lot more. With that being said, this concludes my blog and I hope you have a great school year. Cheers to another day!
Man, that was just Chapter 1 and that was still super long. I took the book back upstairs and decided that I would read the rest of it on a different day.
